Guest Users and Guest Contributions
Where a customer uses The Blue Feet's Guest Map functionality, The Blue Feet may process limited personal data relating to the Guest, including the Guest's name and information concerning actions or contributions made by the Guest within the relevant diagnostic case.
This information is processed to:
- provide and administer Guest access;
- identify the person associated with information entered into a diagnostic case;
- maintain the integrity, traceability and audit history of diagnostic records;
- support diagnosis, quality assurance and repair reporting;
- maintain the security of the platform and investigate misuse or unauthorised access; and
- comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
The Guest's contributions may form part of the customer's diagnostic case and repair record and may therefore be retained for the same period applicable to that case, subject to applicable law and the customer's contractual arrangements with The Blue Feet.
Where The Blue Feet processes Guest personal data on behalf of a customer, the customer may determine the purposes for which such data is processed, while The Blue Feet processes the data in accordance with the customer's instructions and the applicable data-processing terms.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that it has an appropriate legal basis and authority to provide Guest information to The Blue Feet and to permit the Guest to access and contribute to the relevant case.
The Blue Feet will implement appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss or destruction.
Personal data may be processed or transferred outside the UAE where necessary to provide the service, subject to applicable data-protection requirements governing such processing or transfer.
Individuals may have rights in relation to their personal data under applicable data-protection legislation. Requests relating to personal data processed by The Blue Feet should be submitted through the privacy contact details specified in this Privacy Policy.
Reseller Referrals
Some businesses introduce new customers to The Blue Feet (each a "Reseller"). The Blue Feet pays a Reseller a commission on what the accounts it introduced pay for The Blue Feet. Each Reseller has a referral code, which it can share as a link to The Blue Feet's website, or which can be typed in when signing up.
The code in your browser. When you open The Blue Feet's website through a Reseller's link, the website keeps that Reseller's code in your browser's local storage (not a cookie), with the time you followed the link, and nothing else. If you sign up for an account from that browser within 60 days, the code is sent with the signup; after 60 days it is no longer used. Following another Reseller's link replaces the code, and a code typed when signing up is used instead of a kept one. You can remove the code at any time by clearing this website's data in your browser.
What is recorded. When an account is created with the code of an active Reseller, The Blue Feet records which Reseller introduced the account, whether through its link or its typed code, when, and which user signed up. A code that does not belong to an active Reseller is ignored and not kept. The Blue Feet may also link an account to a Reseller, or change or remove that link, for example where the account signed up without the code; each change is recorded.
Statements given to a Reseller. To calculate and pay a Reseller's commission, The Blue Feet records each payment made for an account the Reseller introduced, and each refund or lost payment dispute, and prepares a monthly statement for the Reseller. A statement lists, for each of these: its date, the name of the account (and of the location that paid, if it was not the main account), the type of payment, the amount collected before tax, the commission rate and the commission. It may also show the tax and the amount collected, and the payment processor's reference for the payment. It also shows the payouts made to the Reseller. A statement is given only to the Reseller it concerns. It does not include the names or contact details of the account's users, any card details, or anything from the account's diagnostic cases.
Information about Resellers. The Blue Feet keeps each Reseller's name and code, the contact details it provides (a contact name, email address, telephone number and company), its commission terms, and the payouts made to it, in order to pay it and to keep accounting records.
Why it is processed. To pay each Reseller the commission it has earned, to show afterwards why each payment to a Reseller was made, and to comply with applicable accounting, tax and other legal obligations.
How long it is kept. The record of which Reseller introduced an account, the payment records behind each statement, and the payouts are billing and accounting records: they are kept for as long as commission is paid on them and for the accounting period afterwards, including after the account is closed or deleted. A Reseller's contact details are removed on request once they are no longer needed to pay it.
Requests. Requests relating to this information may be made to The Blue Feet at legal@thebluefeet.com.
Answers to a Workshop's Questions
A workshop that uses The Blue Feet (the "Workshop") may send the owner or driver of a vehicle it is working on (the "Respondent") a link to a page where the Respondent can answer the Workshop's questions about the vehicle. Each link works for one reply and for 24 hours.
What is collected. When a link is used, The Blue Feet processes:
- the Respondent's answers and any note they add, as written, and an automatic English translation of any written in Arabic script (such as Arabic or Urdu);
- a record of the agreement the Respondent gives on the page before sending: the wording shown, its language and the time;
- when the link was first opened and when the reply was sent; and
- the type of browser and device used to send the reply.
The page does not ask for the Respondent's name or contact details. The IP address used to send a reply is not stored with the reply. It is used briefly to protect the page against misuse, and may appear in technical request logs that are deleted within 7 days. While the Respondent is answering, the page keeps the answers they have entered so far in their own browser's local storage (not a cookie), so that they are not lost if the page is reloaded or the link is opened again. They are not sent to The Blue Feet until the Respondent sends the reply, are removed from the browser when the reply is sent, and are no longer used once the link stops working.
Why it is processed. To:
- allow the Workshop to diagnose and repair the vehicle;
- provide the automated diagnostic system the Workshop uses, to which the answers are given only after a person at the Workshop has reviewed and accepted them;
- translate the answers so that the Workshop can read them;
- keep the Workshop's record of the vehicle, and evidence of what the Respondent agreed to;
- protect the page and the platform against misuse; and
- comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
Who sees it. The answers go to the Workshop that sent the link. Answers written in Arabic script are first translated automatically by an AI service provider, as soon as they arrive and before anyone at the Workshop has reviewed them. Answers in other languages reach the Workshop as written. A person at the Workshop then reviews the answers before they are used for the diagnosis. The Workshop decides how they are used, and The Blue Feet processes them on the Workshop's behalf under the Customer Data Processing Terms. The Blue Feet uses service providers, including AI service providers (a list is available on request and is provided to Workshops under the Customer Data Processing Terms), for hosting, storage, the automated diagnostic system and translation; these providers process the answers only to provide those services. Authorised The Blue Feet personnel may access the answers where needed to provide, support or secure the service, or where required by law.
Automated processing. After the Workshop has reviewed and accepted the information, The Blue Feet may use third-party AI services to assist with vehicle diagnosis. Depending on the service used, these providers may process the answers and relevant vehicle details for that purpose. The Workshop remains responsible for professional diagnostic and repair decisions. The AI output is advisory and is not a guarantee.
Processing outside the UAE. Customer answers may be processed or stored outside the UAE by The Blue Feet and its service providers where necessary to provide, secure or support the service. The Blue Feet will implement the applicable data-protection requirements and safeguards for such transfers. Information about relevant service providers and transfer arrangements is available on request at legal@thebluefeet.com.
How long it is kept. The answers are kept with the Workshop's record of the vehicle for as long as the Workshop keeps that record. If the Workshop deletes the record, it can be restored for 30 days and is then erased, the answers with it. Erased answers are removed from The Blue Feet's backups within 90 days. A link that is never answered is deleted 30 days after it expires or is cancelled. The record of the agreement given on the page, which contains none of the answers, is kept after the answers are erased, as evidence of what was agreed.
Erasure and other requests. Requests to access, correct, erase or restrict the use of customer answers may be made to the Workshop that sent the link or to The Blue Feet at legal@thebluefeet.com. Where the Workshop determines the purpose of processing, The Blue Feet may refer the request to the Workshop and assist it in responding. The Blue Feet may ask for reasonable information to verify the requester's identity and will not disclose personal data to an unverified requester. Requests will be handled within the time limits applicable under the relevant data-protection law. A diagnosis already made using the answers is not changed.
